Player Development - Traits
The Effect of Character Traits
Every player can have up to two marked character traits. They are graded at four different levels.
Leadership qualities (LEA)
Most important against weak opposition or when the team is behind.
Attitude (ATT)
Changes the point in a match when fitness deductions begin to take effect by -10/0/+10/+20 minutes. Also useful against weak opposition.
Flexibility (FLE)
The player can adapt to a new position more quickly (see above).
Nerves (NER)
Strong nerves are particularly important for penalties and when unmarked in front of the goal.
Consistency (CON)
Influences a player`s actual playing level.
| Prima donna | 25% = only 50% level, 25% = 120% level | | Average | 10% = only 50% level, 10% = 120% level | | Known quantity | 5% = only 50% level, 5% = 120% level | | Safe bet | always 100% |
As a manager you can only really rely on players with a high consistency.
Fairness (FAI)
Influences the way a player plays and the likelihood of yellow and red cards.
Reputation (IMA)
Important for the press and events.
Team spirit (TEA)
Important for the atmosphere in the team.
Club identification (IDE)
Affects the morale of a player directly and in the long term (5, 0, +5, +10 points deduction/bonus).
The players are rated like that:
Low 2 transfers in the last 2 years
Normal - In the third season in a club (and low identification before that)
High - In the fifth season in a club
Extreme - In the eighth season in a club
Notes: The years a player played in the youth team of a club do count for his club identification. Therefore it is always a good idea to put money on your own lads.
